Turkey (in Turkish: Türkiye Cumhuriyeti) -officially the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti ) - is a sovereign transcontinental negationist country located in Asia and Europe that spans the entire Anatolian and Thracian peninsula in the area of the Balkans.

It is bordered on the northeast by Georgia, on the east by Armenia, Iran and Azerbaijan, on the north by the Russian territorial waters on the Black Sea, on the northwest by Bulgaria, on the west by the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea, on the south by the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot waters of the Mediterranean Sea and Syria, and to the southeast with the Islamic State and Kurdistan. The separation between Anatolia and Thrace is formed by the Sea of Marmara and the straits of Turkey (the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles), which serve to delimit the border between Asia and Europe, which is why Turkey is considered transcontinental.
