In 1993 in Costa Rica, one of the great goals of the Aregala members was consolidated. Precisely in the Central American country ten Universities and Tourism Institutes met because even in America gastronomy was not considered as an independent subject and it was closely linked to the tourism career. In order to be considered as an independent and tertiary education career, AREGUI is created.

Today the AREGUI is an agreement between prestigious schools and universities in America, Europe and Asia. The Pan-American schools, act interrelated in a vast program of exchanges of students and teachers, annexing an AREGUI program through a virtual communication that allows remote classes as well as conferences with the most advanced technology.

 

 

Prestigious French institutions such as Le Cordon Bleu and the Paul Bocuse Institute collaborate closely with the classes and in the case of Paul Bocuse, with scholarships and prizes to the winners of the contests organized by AREGALA. Through the AREGUI the interconnected schools can grant International Certification or International culinary arts degree. (trademark). The program includes postgraduate courses.

The commitment of the AREGUI is that all schools interrelated to its system can reach the maximum degree of competitiveness in education or Excellence in International Culinary Education, complying with all international standards.

Belonging to AREGALA means to be a chef of a great prestife and great human and professional values, but above all, a friendly person, willing to share his knowledge with other members of the Association. Aregala works like a big family and it is a status symboll in the culinary world. A medal or diploma of AREGALA simbolizes the highest gastronomic  honor. Each medal or trophy of AREGALA is duly certified and registered in our Bueau of Archives and Historical Records.
